2.Field Health Analyzer

  • Developed prototype to examine and analyze the health of battery packs built with hardware BMS by studying of charging & discharging profile of cells.
  • Analysis of string voltages, SOC, and SOH across all chemistries.
  • Health analyser is used for data analysis and predicting the battery’s health, which is already assembled with hardware BMS.
  • Health analyser transfers data through CAN bus protocol. The software interface is used to monitor and analyse the battery pack parameters. Data from the health analyser can also be viewed on android or iOS mobile screens using an application through Bluetooth connectivity. It performs the functions of protection cut-offs (OVP, UVP, SCP, OCP, OTP etc.), cell balancing, and thermal shutdown and allows the user to control the parameters and functionality as required through CAN communication and/or the associated Mobile Application on BLE.

3.Prediction and Prevention of Thermal Runaway of Lithium Batteries

  • Study cell characteristics of batteries under use, analyze and predict possible thermal runaway
  • The invention relates to a Battery Thermal Management device under emergency safety requirements.
  • Lithium cells have their temperature limit for safe operation. It is known that as Lithium cells of any type get heated during charging or discharging for any reason, they start emitting various gases. Monitoring these gases is an early and reliable indicator of the rising temperature of Lithium cells. The overheating may be because of some fault like over-voltage, under-voltage, overcurrent, under-current, ambient Temperature etc.
  • One way of preventing thermal runaway in Lithium Batteries is to detect the level of gases being emitted and use this to shut down the battery to stop further heating battery.
